d'art singulier
AUBAGNE
17 DECEMBRE 2004
AU 9 JANVIER 2005
[Handwritten:] catalog from 2004-2005 France show.

"I'm not sure what my style is. I am a self taught artist. I like to use intense color and sharp lines to tell a moving story. I like the way cardboard holds oil paint and the way canvas bums my fingers and sands my nails as I scratch at the surface. I enjoy the smell of linseed oil and turpentine as I paint in my efficiency apartment. I like the way I can count on my favorite brushes to pull off any painting without looking too muddy. Painting takes all my energy, and effort. The time I spend creating each painting is precious. It is the most important thing I do." Matt Sesow
Matt Sesow's left hand was amputated after an accident involving a small plane. He lives in Washington, D.C.

No one can resist the fascination of the possible meetings that causes the artistic adventure. How am me entry in this forest of magic that always entails me more far from my first stammerings in art and prolong the possible of all possible. One day so " celle " that was only a " Pacouline " of his/her/its village, crossed the ocean, while passing in the sky.......... I went to the meeting of the world de " the other side of the miroir ."
In Amérique !
I made the acquaintance of these people opened to the art, generous, hospitable as one would not know how to believe......... And my heart became of theirs........ They welcomed me in all simplicity and at the same time like a " princesse "..... Together, we made projects of meeting. This project here, in our international festival of singular art, takes body. We are happy to welcome within our exhibition the artists de " Survivors art " que foundation enlivens my friend Candyce Brokaw............ We hope that it is the beginning of a collaboration and an artistic and friendly meeting. Can be that knows, we will be able to another time to have a representation of at us in a festival American. I hope that here people from our home will appreciate the superb work of these artists Américains and that one won't fear to come to the meeting of those that will make the displacement, in order to redistribute them the hospitality that one receives when one goes to home.
Quick the art that encourages the meetings, quick the friendship between the peoples.
